Congratulations to Trajan CSO on University of Tasmania award

Hobart, Tasmania, Australia – 10 November 2017

Dr Andrew Gooley, Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) of Trajan Scientific and Medical (Trajan), proudly accepted the University of Tasmania Vice-Chancellor's award for outstanding contributions by adjunct and clinical title holders.

The award is in recognition of Andrew's sustained and outstanding contributions to ASTech, and more broadly to ACROSS over the past 5 years in the capacity of his adjunct position with the School of Physical Sciences, University of Tasmania.

Prof Brett Paull Director of ASTech and ACROSS, says “Andrew's enthusiasm and passion for science and innovation, and his engaged and inspiring interactions with all the ASTech students, is an asset to our center, which we simply couldn't do without."

Andrew received the award from Acting Vice-Chancellor Prof Mike Calford following an introduction from Prof Diane Nicol - Chair of Academic Senate at the annual Vice Chancellors Awards Ceremony held at the University's Sandy Bay campus, Hobart, Tasmania, on 10 November 2017.

The award is bestowed annually including an A$5,000 grant to support the recipient’s activities associated with the University. Trajan’s partnership with UTAS in ASTech aims to develop new capabilities and technologies that have the potential to progress the deployment of portable separation science systems into society, as well as training the next generation of industry-ready researchers.

“I’m honored to receive the award from the University, and on behalf of Trajan I’m delighted to acknowledge the commitment our organization has made in supporting industry-academia collaborations, none more evident than our joint program with the University of Tasmania through the foundation of ASTech and the training and mentoring of the next generation of young scientists and entrepreneurs.” said Andrew.
