Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS recast).
Conscious of the need to protect the global environment, our policy is to operate in accordance with sound environmental management practices and to achieve improved environmental outcomes for customers, end-users of our products and society in general.
As the EU RoHS Directive specifies Electrical and Electronic Equipment only, the majority of our analytical product range is outside scope. With the publication of RoHS recast in July 2011 please refer to the following response.
Where compliance is indicated on the relevant certificate, the product family has been determined to have levels of the restricted substances at or below the maximum concentration values (MCV) as follows:
- Lead (Pb) = 1000 ppm or 0.1% by weight
- Mercury (Hg) = 1000 ppm or 0.1% by weight
- Hexavalent Chromium VI (Cr VI) = 1000 ppm or 0.1% by weight
- Cadmium (Cd) = 100 ppm or 0.01% by weight
- Polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) = 1000 ppm or 0.1% by weight
- Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) = 1000 ppm or 0.1% by weight
RoHS compliance is based on information provided by component suppliers including product technical documentation (e.g. Safety Data Sheets). Compliance is also determined from product family testing by an independent externally accredited laboratory where appropriate. Ongoing screening of incoming supplier material or testing of each individual product supplied is neither feasible nor practical.
Any packaging that is discarded after purchase of the product is excluded from the compliance certificate.
