Marketing and Communications Advisor

  • Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer

Reporting to the CMO this role is responsible for the development and tactical execution of communications initiatives in support of the business strategy, market goals, and organizational objectives globally.

The role

  • Assist the CMO in developing corporate and product brand strategies.
  • Work in collaboration with Industry Marketing Managers, Product Market Managers, Territory Heads, field offices and external partners to create and communicate compelling marketing communications.
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of global marketing activities.
  • Develop and implement targeted campaigns across all channels (eDM, web, print, advertising, PR).
  • Liaise with agencies to execute marketing plans according to budget.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the brand ensuring that all communications carry a consistent message.
  • Work with CMO to create marketing messages.
  • Managing communications aspects of new product launches, working closely with technical colleagues to produce product-based literature and information.
  • Coordinating with Graphic Designers to produce marketing collateral.
  • Oversee all website content including editing and publishing.
  • Coordinate social media presence.
  • Liaise with Management Information Systems team, Graphic Designer, and agencies to maintain website content.
  • Use website analytics tools to generate reports as required.
  • Coordinate and deliver organization-wide internal communications

The Candidate

  • High level of marketing communications expertise - including branding, content development, PR, web, and social media.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strategic thinking combines a creative flair with a technical knowledge and a passion for marketing.
  • Ability to process and interpret complex information and turn difficult concepts into easy-to-understand prose.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proof-reading skills.
  • Good commercial attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office and Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of web content management systems.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to manage agencies and consultants.

Our site in Bethel Connecticut is the third and latest acquisition by Trajan in the US, developing, manufacturing and marketing a range of polymer products maximizing security and integrity of the sample.

About the role

An opportunity to make a significant contribution at a critical point in the life cycle of our business will keep you challenged and energized.

Your primary objective will be to manage the product portfolio within the business unit, identify the application areas where the product range can be developed to expand to deliver impact and competitive advantage. Screen incoming customer new product requests and RFQs for suitability.

You will aid in developing a deep understanding of market/customer decision making using the 5Ps of marketing as it pertains to the portfolio.

You will be responsible for defining the product range, aligned with the corporate strategy, in conjunction with the Business Unit General Manager. Developing pricing strategy for the Trajan branded portfolio, keeping abreast of market intelligence. You will lead market competitive/benchmark evaluations, including performance testing both internally and with customers.

You will define the generation of marketing and promotional collateral.

Experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years in a Technical Support or Product Management role.
  • Experience in the life sciences analytical instrument market would be highly desirable, including consumables used in pharmaceutical, clinical, and medical research and development.
  • Experience working with and developing solutions in partnership with Instrumentation OEMs.
  • Experience in LC/GC workflows and consumables utilizing contained, sealed, sample vials, plates along with a general awareness of the global analytical science market would be of great advantage.
  • Solid oral, written and presentation skills to effectively communicate and influence a cross functional team is essential.
