Trajan Scientific and Medical (Trajan) is pleased to share that La Trobe University has joined the ARC Training Centre for Portable Analytical Separation Technologies (ASTech).
La Trobe hosts the Centre for Materials and Surface Science (CMSS) at its campus in Melbourne, Australia, which offers a comprehensive surface science capability that will support ASTech’s research objectives.
ASTech aims to develop new capabilities and technologies that will drive the development of new, portable and affordable analytical separation systems, through transformation of analytical innovations into real-world applications, such as point-of-care diagnostics and environmental monitoring.
La Trobe’s facilities provide more capacity and opportunities for students, with significant research already underway at ASTech’s first two university nodes, University of Tasmania and University of South Australia; as well as Trajan’s facilities as ASTech’s industry founding partner.
Trajan Chief Executive Officer Stephen Tomisich said that La Trobe’s research strategy, experience in industry partnerships and complementary technical capabilities make them an ideal fit for ASTech.
